The 2/3 rule: a good starting point
To achieve good proportions, your wall decor should generally occupy about two-thirds of the width of your bed or headboard.
A piece that is too small can quickly look lost on the wall. If you are hesitating between two sizes, don't be afraid to choose the larger one.
Sizes adapted to your headboard

To give you an idea, above a 60-inch Queen bed, a composition of about 48 inches wide generally works very well. For a 76-inch King bed, you can aim for a composition of about 60 inches.
A large canvas or a pair?
Both can be magnificent.
A large canvas creates a cleaner look and immediately gives the room a strong focal point. A pair of frames adds rhythm while maintaining a nice balance above the bed.
For a pair, leave about 2 to 3 inches between the pieces so they are perceived as a single composition.
At what height should you install your frame?
Avoid installing it too high. In general, leave about 6 to 10 inches between the top of your headboard and the bottom of your wall decor.
The result will be much more harmonious and will make the bedding, headboard, and artwork feel like part of the same decor.

Before ordering, outline the dimensions of your future canvas directly on the wall using masking tape. Then take a few steps back: you will immediately see if the proportions please you.
And don't forget to take your bedding into account. The colors don't need to be a perfect match. Simply incorporating one or two shades already present in the room is often enough to create a beautiful harmony.
