Fusion Mineral Paint Plaster
PLASTER evokes the color of soft sand, neither too white nor too beige. A neutral color that will find its place in any room of your home.
Superior to English and American chalk paints, ultra-adhesive FUSION mineral paint can be applied to any surface without a primer or undercoat. It is ready to use and provides a matte finish that is just as authentic as milk paint. Fusion paint does not require a topcoat, but you can apply one to create glossier or distressed effects or to increase its water and scuff resistance. Fusion mineral paint is highly durable and easy to apply. It offers excellent coverage that, in almost all cases, requires only one coat.

PREPARATION: THE SURFACE MUST BE CLEAN AND DRY. CLEAN WITH TSP PHOSPHATE-FREE ORGANIC DEGREASER. SURFACES OTHER THAN BARE WOOD MUST BE LIGHTLY SANDED. FOR GLASS, METAL, OR GLOSSY PLASTIC, WE RECOMMEND APPLYING A LAYER OF HOMESTEAD HOUSE ADHESION AGENT FIRST.
APPLICATION: FUSION CAN BE APPLIED WITH A "BLUE JEANS" SYNTHETIC BRISTLE BRUSH OR, FOR A SMOOTHER FINISH, USE A VERY DENSE BRISTLE BRUSH LIKE THE STAALMEESTER OVAL BRUSH. IT ALSO APPLIES VERY WELL WITH A ROLLER. STIR THE PAINT WELL BEFORE APPLICATION. ALL COLORS CAN BE MIXED TOGETHER TO CREATE A MULTITUDE OF SHADES.
To create a distressed effect: use the wax puck to prevent the paint from adhering to areas you wish to distress. WARNING: Varnish will not adhere to wax.
FINISH: THE PAINT IS DRY TO THE TOUCH AFTER TWO TO THREE HOURS.
To create an antique effect (distressing), sand the surfaces with flexible, waterproof SIASPONGE abrasive sponges.
Although it is not mandatory, adding a finish will improve the gloss, durability, and make the painted surface much easier to maintain.
Apply a wax after 4 hours. You can use Fusion wax, Homestead House waxes, and colorless or colored Carbamex paste wax to create patinas.
Wait 24 hours after application before applying the Fusion protective sealer or a varnish such as Blanchon Initial for surfaces exposed to moisture and abrasion. For outdoor surfaces, use Blanchon Marine Varnish.
