Inglenook mineral fusion paint
Superior to English and American chalk paints, the ultra-adhesive FUSION mineral paint can be applied to any surface without the need for a primer or undercoat. It is ready to use and provides a matte finish that is just as authentic as milk paint. Fusion paint does not require a topcoat, though you may apply one to create lustrous or distressed effects or to increase its water and scuff resistance. Fusion mineral paint is highly durable and easy to apply. It offers excellent coverage, which in almost every case requires only a single coat.

Preparation: The surface must be clean and dry. Clean with a phosphate-free organic TSP degreaser. Surfaces other than bare wood should be lightly sanded. For glass, metal, or glossy plastic, we recommend applying a coat of Homestead House Ultra Grip beforehand.
Application: Fusion can be applied with a "Blue Jeans" synthetic bristle brush, or for a smoother finish, use a very dense bristle brush such as the Staalmeester oval brush. It also applies very well with a roller. Stir the paint well before application. All colours can be mixed together to create a multitude of shades.
To create a distressed effect: use the wax puck to prevent the paint from adhering to the areas you wish to distress. WARNING: Varnish will not adhere to wax.
Finish: The paint is dry to the touch after two to three hours.
To create an antique (distressed) effect, sand surfaces with SIASPONGE flexible waterproof sanding sponges.
Although not mandatory, adding a topcoat will enhance the lustre and durability, and make the painted surface much easier to maintain.
Apply wax after 4 hours. You can use Fusion wax, Homestead House waxes, or clear or coloured Carbamex paste wax to create patinas.
Wait 24 hours after application before applying Fusion Tough Coat or a varnish such as Blanchon Initial for surfaces exposed to moisture and abrasion. For outdoor surfaces, use Blanchon Marine Varnish.
